Christmas Alphabet Sticker Tree: Learning Letters

In our ongoing effort to learn the letters in the alphabet, I made a simple sticker activity with a Christmas theme.

I saw The Stay At Home Mom's Survival Guide's sticker activity at B-Inspired Mama on the same day that I saw Buggy and Buddy's Christmas ornament game and I loved both of the ideas so much that I combined them to make this letter sticker tree. (I remembered later that Mamas Like Me did something similar with toilet paper rolls too.)

I made a tree shape from construction paper. If your kids are in a crafty mood, they can make their own and get some fine motor practice.

I wrote capital letters on the tree. (My son was annoyed that I didn't put them in order.)

I labeled office stickers with the lower case letters (in order - he approved). The idea was to cover the upper case letter with the lower case sticker but he has his own ideas. He didn't want to cover up the uppercase letters (which he's more familiar with) so he just put the stickers next to them, which was fine with me.

You could adapt this activity for younger learners by matching the same letters to the stickers (uppercase to uppercase or lowercase to lowercase) or putting fewer letters on the tree. Math facts might work well for older kids. If you have stickers with pictures on them, you could have them cover the letter of the initial sound. I think there are lots of possibilities!
