Painted Tissue Paper Vase Kid Craft

In the spring and summer my sweet daughter brings me tons of flowers from the yard. Every vase in our house gets filled with dandelions and whatever else she can find. This year she decided she wanted to make her own vases. And she wanted the vases to have flowers painted on them. I remembered making decoupaged tissue paper vases when I was a kid. I used colored tissue paper but I figured if we used white, she could paint whatever she wanted on them.

Easy Mosaic Cross Craft

These mosaic crosses are easy and inexpensive to make, so they'd make a great last minute Easter craft. My kids also made some to give to their godmothers and grandmothers on Mother's Day.

Kid Made Turtle Herb Planters

Wouldn't these make a cute Mother's Day gift or a fun project for Earth Day?
We had some basil seeds lying around and it was too cold to plant them outside, so we planted them in empty fruit cup containers. (I suppose I should've poked holes in the bottom for drainage, but I didn't.)

Handprint Garden Markers & Gardening Books for Kids

While I wasn't prepared to commit to a full fledged garden, I thought it would be a good experience for the kids to grow something this summer.  We decided to use the flower boxes on our deck to plant some carrots, grape and cherry tomatoes, and strawberries.  The kids helped me do the planting on Mother's Day.
