A to Z Summer Bucket List

My sister from Mom of 4 is here today!:

We did a summer list in 2010 and I thought it would be fun to write a summer list in alphabetical order this year since the littles are working on recognizing their ABC's (idea found on Creative Organizing blog.)

We came up with ideas we would like to do this summer and I wrote them down. I printed one letter off per page, added some scrap patterned paper and added little slips of papers with ideas. I plan to take off/add the little slips depending on what we actually do and add a picture of that activity (either one I take with my camera or one the kids draw.) The goal is to do at least one thing per letter. I then hung them up in our (waiting to be painted) empty hall wall. At the end of summer, I'll make a little personalized book.

Here's what we came up with so far:

A=Art, A Series of Unfortunate Events Party (just started the 13th and last book in the series!)
B=Bikes, Berries, (learn about) Bats (library program)
C=Camping, Cabin
D=Donuts
E=Eat Treats We Make
F=Fire, Friends Over, Fireflies, Fireworks
G=Grandma and Grandpa Over
H=Hike
I=Ice Cream
J=Jump Rope Contest (look out, Paul. I'm totally kicking your butt.)
K=Kayak (done!), Kite
L=Library Program
M=Movies, Make Bouncy Balls
N=Navigate to Aunt Lorie's
O=Organize
P=Plant a Garden, Plant a Pumpkin (both done), Picnic, Puzzles
Q=Quiet Reading Time
R= Random Acts of Kindness, Rummage Sales, Rock Candy
S=S'mores, Star Wars, Science Experiments, Swim, Summer School
T=Terrarium (done), Tennis, Tae Kwon Do (me, too this summer!)
U=Unplug for the Day (eek, this one scares me. Any other "u" ideas?)
V=Vacation Bible School
W=Water Fun
X=eXplore
Y=Yatzee-like games (board games...Y is hard!)
Z=Zoo, a to Z books

  3. U=Unique day--do a spot light on each of your children--or find someone in your family (or friend) that you could spotlight how they are unique.

    U-Turn Trip=take one dice with you and hop in the car---2,3 turn right 4,5 turn left 1 or 6 do a U-Turn

    UFO (Take pictures of a frisbee--study UFO's, Watch Lilo & Stitch)

    Umbrella--play in a rain storm

    Underwater Adventure (play at pool? take dive sticks? heavy little treasures?)

    United States (do over the 4th of July--have them learn a little about the USA)

    Anything that starts with US
    Treasury,
    Armed forces,army, navy, marines and so on
    presidents

    Universe--learn about further past the solar system

    Useless---take trash and recycle it in to a treasure (great art project beyond paper and crayons)

    I like Undercover day too---good idea!
    That was fun---Since I have never read your blog (came by way of pinterest) I hope maybe one of those will work for your family.
