Diego Rescue Pack Favor Bags

Making the favor bags for my son's Diego birthday party was really easy and I love how they turned out.

I started with orange lunch bags.  I folded them forward and trimmed the edge to make it rounded. This was the flap on Diego's rescue pack.

I cut eyes, mouths and eyebrows from colored construction paper.

I used a tiny bit of hot glue to attach the eyes and mouth to the front of the bag, the eyebrows to the flap, and an orange ribbon to the back, tucking each end under. Diego's rescue pack is sling style - we're not talking about Dora's backpack here, people! ;)

For favors I went with the wild animal theme and included an animal water squirter and squirt gun, wild animal eggs with candy inside, and some cute wild animal hand tattoos.

I closed the bags with another tiny dot of hot glue.

Cost breakdown (I made 10 bags):
Orange lunch bags from Michael's - 12 for  $2.40 (with 20% off coupon)
Orange ribbon from the Dollar store - $1.00
10 water squirters from Target's dollar spot - 10.00
10 animal squirt guns from Target's dollar spot - 10.00
Package of 12 animal eggs at CVS - 2.50 (half off after Easter)
2 packages of animal tattoos from Michael's - 1.60 (with 20% off coupon)
Total cost: 27.50 or $2.75/bag
(I did not include the cost of construction paper or glue because I had it on hand.)
