Egg Carton Baby Jesus: Christmas Craft

Since we've been reading lots of books about Baby Jesus being born in the manger, my four year old and I made a Baby Jesus egg carton craft.

I cut out two sections from a styrofoam egg carton and drew on a face. Apparently my daughter wasn't in a drawing mood.

We cut a blanket from felt and glued it to the bottom section of the egg carton.

I made a manger from a box pulled out of the recycling bin. This would have looked better if we painted it, but we were just looking for a quick craft today.

Can you tell we had a healthy breakfast this morning?
We filled the manger with hay (yellow Easter grass - you could also use shredded paper, tissue paper, or gift bag filler).

Finally, we tucked Baby Jesus into his manger.

If we're feeling ambitious we might attempt the rest of the nativity scene later this week.
