Secret Code Treasure Hunt

This secret code treasure hunt is easy to put together and could be adapted for any holiday or theme.

Secret Code Treasure Hunt

Our leprechaun is pretty tricky and leaves some kind of treasure hunt for the kids each year on St. Patrick's Day. He also manages to evade the traps they set every year. Knowing that Drew likes secret codes and is learning to read this year, today he left a treasure hunt that incorporated both.

The leprechaun left a note and clue where they had set the traps. (That tricky leprechaun took all the money they left as bait!) The note had a simple number/letter code on it and the first clue to decode. It said, "dining room".

In the dining room they found a hidden shamrock with another message to decode.

This one led them to the bathroom where they found green leprechaun pee (washable liquid watercolor) in the toilet.

Next they went to Drew's room

and then Lainey's room.

They ended up in our room where they each found a gift hidden in the closet.

  2. I'm doing this today because I finally got sick of moving the traps around. (Better late than never?) Except they are only getting one clue each to find a cereal bar at the end. None of that fancy gift wrapping for us.
