My daughter had a friend over and we made an owl craft from colored paper plates and foam craft sheets. They're easy to put together with glue and all the cutting is great for working on fine motor skills. If you don't have craft foam, paper would work just as well. Plus you can make them any color so everybody gets their favorite.
Start with a colored plate:
Add two circles (one larger than the other) for eyes:
Add some large googly eyes:
And a triangle beak:
Add some heart feet:
And the wings:
Finish it with some heart feathers:
