2 Ingredient Edible Candy Dough

This candy dough is made from only two ingredients and is completely edible, so it's a sweet twist on regular play dough.

I saw this candy dough on Wilton's and it looked so easy I knew we had to try it as a fun treat for Valentine's Day. Plus you only need two ingredients - candy melts and corn syrup. (See their post for more detailed instructions - I'm not good about following directions.)

To make the dough, I started with 6oz. of candy melts. I think colored chocolate chips would work as well.

I alternated microwaving them at 50% power for thirty seconds and stirring until they were just melted. You don't want it too hot.

I poured in two generous tablespoons of corn syrup and stirred. This is the cool part. It pulls together and forms a ball of dough.

Put the dough on some wax paper and let it cool for about an hour. It will probably separate. When it's completely cool, knead the dough until it's soft and ready to use.

My kids just played with (and sampled) this dough but it can be shaped into almost anything and used to decorate cupcakes or cookies. Just let the dough harden overnight to hold its shape. Otherwise put it in an airtight container and store it at room temperature. It will keep for several weeks.
