Reading Eggs: iPad Mini Giveaway

Tracking PixelThis is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Reading Eggs. Opinions expressed are my own and I'm truly excited to tell you how you can try it free for five weeks (no credit card required) and enter to win an iPad Mini.

In the past, my son was not particularly interested in learning letters. No matter how many fun activities I came up with, for a long time it just wasn't his thing. As a mom I was terrified of him falling behind, but as a reading specialist I knew he'd learn at his own pace when he was motivated enough. Like many kids, one of the things that motivates him is computer games. Reading Eggs, an online program that focuses on a core reading curriculum of phonics and sight words, is a great way to take advantage of kids' love of technology and make learning to read fun.

While I was setting up an account on Reading Eggs, my son started peering over my shoulder and asking to play. He took the placement test and got started right away. There's such a variety of games and activities that I actually had to set a limit on his play time or he would have just kept going and going and going. I knew he'd like the golden egg rewards (he loves that stuff), but I was pleasantly surprised by how engaged he is in the learning games and activities. There's over 120 big lessons that are perfect for 3-7 year olds that are learning to read as well as a component called "Reading Eggspress" for 7-8 year olds who know the basics but still need to develop comprehension, writing, and spelling skills.

As you can see, my four year old was equally interested.

There's also more than 1000 ebooks available, but the best part about Reading Eggs is that you can try it FREE for 5 weeks (and you don't have to enter any credit card information.)

When you sign up for your free 5 week trial be sure to check out the Read-To-Cure Challenge. From February 3 to March 7, Reading Eggs is inspiring kids to read while raising funds for The National Children's Cancer Society. Children can set up their own fundraising page and ask friends and family to donate based on the number of books they read and lessons they complete. Reading Eggs will match the funds donated, and there are six great prizes up for grabs too.

In the meantime, you can enter to win an iPad Mini. Just sign up for the free trial and answer the question in the rafflecopter form. Good luck!

  3. My oldest daughter has access to this site through school and loves it. She's completed all the basic levels and has moved on to the higher access within the site. I'm going to use the 5 week trial for my 5 year old who isn't in school yet. She's looking forward to kindergarten this fall.
