Fingerprint Lambs (Sorta) & Kid's Co-op Link Party

My original intention was NOT to do this project three different ways, but the kids had other ideas.  I drew an oval on a piece of paper and told Drew and Lainey to dip their fingers in the white paint and make fingerprints to fill it up. 
Neither one thought that sounded like a good idea.
Drew wanted to paint his.
Lainey wanted to stamp hers with a pencil eraser. (We did some cat print stamps this way.)
Afterward, we added black construction paper heads and legs.
And that was it!
Our book for this craft was One Little Lamb .  It's a cute and simple story about how wool is turned into mittens for a little girl who wears them when she visits the lambs.

If you don't have a preschooler, older readers would enjoy Woolbur , who is more of a free thinker than your typical sheep.  When his parents tell him he must act like the rest of the herd, he teaches everybody else to enjoy the things he does.

Another Brother is about Davy, who keeps getting another brother!  They are driving him crazy, copying everything he does!  When his brothers finally outgrow this, he discovers he has another...sister!!!

We've also done a lamb treat that would be cute with any of these books (there's other lamb book suggestions too)!

  4. They turned out so cute! One of our favorite book about sheep is Tomi dePaola's "Charlie Needs a Cloak." It's about sheep shearing and the process of making a piece of cloth from the wool.

  8. I love that your kiddos have their own opinions about their art. My son is the same way. I tried to get him to let me paint his hand so he could print it on paper. No go, so I suggested finger painting. He wasn't into that either on this particular day. He wanted to paint with a brush, so that's what we did.
