Letter Treasure Maps
After our R racetrack we read Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC. "'R,' roared the captain. 'R's not enough. We need other letters to help make us tough.'" and so his crew goes looking for all the letters of the alphabet. Their anchor goes into an A, a B floats by on the bay, and they find a C carved into a cannonball. The only letter they forget to find is Z, which they discover while they're sleeping that night. This is a really fun rhyming story and it's lots of fun to look for each letter in the illustrations.
Update: Over at Strings, Keys, & Melodies, Tonya made a musical treasure map using colored stickers. Genius! You HAVE to go check it out!
