We read this right before lunch so I could serve them a muffin tin meal with the foods from the book.
Here's what they had:
cheese (mouse)
milk (cat)
flower nectar/ actually applesauce (bee)
spaghetti (human)
banana (monkey)
gummy worms (fish) I was surprised they didn't even eat these!
These are the foods from the book that we didn't have room in the muffin tins for: grass for the cow, seeds for the chick, and fresh fish for the pelican. I would have used a lettuce salad, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, and tuna salad (my kids are hit or miss with that though).
